Red Sonja #4 gives us the siege of Velanger. Over the course of the comic, the city walls will be overrun by the followers of Thord Varg thanks in part to his agent within the castle helping to undermine their defenses, the power of persuasion Varg has which has others surrendering to him, and the sway he has over his army willing to kill to find that which he seeks: Red Sonja.
The comic is heavy on action with some strong art by Walter Geovani, some featuring Sonja and other sequences showcasing the army overwhelming the city. It takes much for Sonja to give up a cause, even a loosing one, but the ominous voice that has spoken through others eventually convinces the She-Devil with a Sword to make her escape to Vestfold. Only then does Sonja learn the name of her would be savior, and leaves readers with more questions waiting to be answered.
