Taking a short-cut into Gotham City, Mystery, Inc. find themselves in Slaughter Swamp where they run into DC Comics’ most famous zombie along with Batman and a promoter named Cyril Gold selling a paranormal tourism experience for Millennials looking to take a selfie with Solomon Grundy. Both Batman and Velma smell something fishy about Gold’s business (and not only because Batman knows Grundy is safely locked up in Gotham City), and so the gang joins in to help the Dark Knight Detective get to the bottom of what is really happening in the swamp.
Once we learn it can’t actually be Grundy, there’s really only one obvious answer to the mystery which will eventually be revealed thanks in part to the photo-happy tourists, an obvious motive for Cyril wanting appearances by Grundy on his otherwise worthless swamp land, and Batman putting a little fear into the fake zombie before the traditional unmasking.
