The Vigil #2

While the second issue does carry on the theme of introducing  Nia Saha to the world in which The Vigil operates, much to her shock, and we do get a couple of the other members out on other missions, the main focus of The Vigil #2 is on a single member of the team and how his current mission ties into his tragic past.

Last issue the team intercepted a ship of pirates smuggling contents to what appears to be an abandoned facility on a small island. Able to sense and control electricity, Arclight finds his way into the hidden catacombs of the facility and discovers not only scientists and soldiers but also their experiment: a young child transformed into a weapon to control the weather. Giving off some strong Frankenstein / Island of Dr. Moreau mad scientist vibes, the second issue again puts one character front and center while allowing others to work in the background. I’m guessing this will continue until all the main characters are properly introduced.
