The Wild Storm #22

The Wild Storm #22 comic reviewAuthority, assemble! Jenny Mei Sparks and her friends head out to team-up with Apollo and Midnighter as The Wild Storm #22 delivers Warren Ellis’ re-imagined Authority together at last. Although Apollo and Midnighter are initially wary, you’ve got to admit that Jenny makes a pretty solid pitch as the heroes band together to stop Skywatch who decides to rain down fire on the heroes.

They may not be a cohesive team yet, but Sparks, Hawksmoor, Angela Spica, and Shen Li-Men are able to convince Midnighter and Apollo they are on the same side by their actions. And as good as her pitch was to win over the two heroes, there’s just something about seeing Jenny Mei Sparks in action to convince anyone that they don’t want to be on the other side of her wrath. Shen proves not too shabby, either.

The issue also features Jacklyn King putting Angelia’s tech to good use when someone shows up for her as well as it appears the gloves are completely off in the battle between Skywatch and I.O. with only the Authority to step in and save the world. Must-read.
