Whatever Happened to Crimson Justice #1

Feature heavy The Dark Knight Returns vibes, the opening issue of Whatever Happened to Crimson Justice introduces us to the world of a retired super-hero starting with a police commissioner and an unanswered Red Alert signal atop the police station used to once signal the city’s hero, Crimson Justice. The death of the commissioner, apparently by the hero’s archnemesis who also disappeared the same night decades ago, kicks off the issue in which his will reaches out from beyond the grave to contact the alter-ego of the former hero and make a plea for a city that still needs him.

MacGyver Monday takes us back to another adventure featuring science-adventurer Angus MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson). Things are a bit rough on MacGyver in “The Golden Triangle” as our hero gets knocked out both in the opening gambit, involving attempting to prevent top secret plans from being sold in a junk yard, and later in the main storyline where afterward he’s strung up to die slowly in the jungle sun. In the main story, MacGyver is sent to Burma to recover a poison cannister from a crashed cargo plan whose contents have found themselves  into the control of a local general who makes his money having his minions force villagers to harvest his poppy fields.

Tales of the Underworld – The Good Life

  • Title: Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld – The Good Life
  • wiki: link

With the Asajj Ventress arc complete, the show turns its attention to a new character from The Clone Wars. “The Good Life” acts as a backstory for Cad Bane (A.J. LoCascio) who we meet as a child living on the streets with his best friend Niro (Eric Lopez). The pair are taken advantage of by the leader of a gang (who looks an awful lot like who Cad Bane will grow up to be) who entices them to help out on a heist starting one’s life in crime while the other is caught by authorities. Fans of Cad Bane looking for information on where the character started are likely going to enjoy this one the most, although it’s certainly still serviceable for those of us a bit perplexed by the choice of characters for this series.
