Batman #160

H2SH continues following the reveal that Red Hood is working with Hush who begins targeting members of the Bat-Family through any perceived weaknesses or relationships the pair can leverage. Linda‘s (John Roberts) insistence of a family walk does go exactly as planned in “Like a Candle in the Gym” when Louise (Kristen Schaal), Gene (Eugene Mirman), and Tina (Dan Mintz) get distracted by Fifth Grade Megan (Abbi Jacobson) whose latest obsession with a teacher was caused by an off-hand joke Louise made at school. The trio spend most of the episode attempting to convince Megan that Coach Blevins (Larry Murphy) isn’t collecting sweat for nefarious purposes and then not to upload her “proof” to the Internet. Meanwhile, Linda’s new walking shoes (the true cause of the family walk) destroy her feet to the point Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) eventually begins to wheel her around in a shopping cart.

Feature heavy The Dark Knight Returns vibes, the opening issue of Whatever Happened to Crimson Justice introduces us to the world of a retired super-hero starting with a police commissioner and an unanswered Red Alert signal atop the police station used to once signal the city’s hero, Crimson Justice. The death of the commissioner, apparently by the hero’s archnemesis who also disappeared the same night decades ago, kicks off the issue in which his will reaches out from beyond the grave to contact the alter-ego of the former hero and make a plea for a city that still needs him.

MacGyver Monday takes us back to another adventure featuring science-adventurer Angus MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson). In the main story, MacGyver is sent to Burma to recover a poison cannister from a crashed cargo plan whose contents have found themselves  into the control of a local general who makes his money having his minions force villagers to harvest his poppy fields.
