Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #17 comic reviewI have never denied that fact that Kyle Rayner is my least favorite Green Lantern. Ever. Born out of the masturbatory fantasies of Ron Marz who destroyed one of DC Comic’s oldest heroes to write himself into the storyline, Kyle has been a problem for me ever since his first appearance (where he was given a power ring because a Guardian couldn’t bother to find someone actually worthy and handed the most powerful weapon in the universe over to the first person he came across). I explain this not to attack the character, who I find tolerable at the best of times, but to offer an explanation while a Kyle-centric issue is never going to be a favorite of mine.

Star Wars Rebels - Zero Hour TV review

It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Using his knowledge of Agent Kallus‘ (David Oyelowo) treachery, Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) springs his trap and sends the fleet to Atollon as the Rebels prepare to attack Lothal. Using an Imperial blockage complete with Interdictors, Thrawn traps both Phoenix Squadron and General Dodonna‘s (Michael Bell) Massassi Group at Atollon as his forces push their advantage. In a last-ditch effort, Ezra (Taylor Gray) manages to escape the blockade and seek help from an old friend.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - Stayin' Alive / Evolution Rock TV review

The buffoonish Peter Quill (Will Friedle) and the pals have their first run in with Earth’s mightiest heroes when the Guardians of the Galaxy discover that a group calling themselves the Avengers is in possession of Thanos‘ asteroid. Not willing to leave such dangerous technology on Earth, the Guardians liberate it from the Avengers leading to a big throwdown between two teams until eventually they realize they are all on the same side and must work together against the High Evolutionary (Nolan North) who threatens the Earth by tampering with the Avengers death ray satellite (something Drax is much in favor of, as is the idea of a group of vengeful heroes) and kidnaps Rocket (Trevor Devall), Groot, and Carol Danvers (Grey DeLisle).

Will Eisner’s The Spirit: The Corpse-Makers #2 comic reviewAlthough the Spirit tracks down two of the three bank robbers in Will Eisner’s The Spirit: The Corpse-Makers it only leads to the beginning of a larger mystery involving mysterious disappearances of those who will not be missed.

Our intrepid hero isn’t the only one on the case. Private investigator Lisa Marlowe also stumbles onto the unseemly business while on a job trailing John Bartlett whose wife believes he is having an affair. The good news is there’s no mistress. The bad news is Mr. Bartlett is wrapped up in something far more dangerous.
