Throwback Thursday takes us back to the Second Season of Human Target. A family in need sends Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) and team to the suburbs, albeit under the false impression its the father who is being targeted. With Chance and Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley) shadowing and snooping around Mr. Applebaum’s (John Michael Higgins) workplace, and Winston (Chi McBride) watching over the wife (Rebecca McFarland), Ames (Janet Montgomery) hangs out with the family’s teenage son Joel (Taylor Boggan) who, unknowingly, is actually responsible for the attack that nearly got them all killed in the opening scene.

To absolutely no one’s surprise, except apparently the makers of the film, centering the film around corporate assholes wasn’t the magic ingredient in fixing the devolving franchise. Final Destination 5 isn’t much of an improvement over the false advertising that already delivered us The Final Destination. Following the same set up as the rest of the franchise, Final Destination 5 starts with a bridge collapse which is survived by a handful of people thanks to the premonition of one member (Nicholas D’Agosto) of a group heading to a company retreat who manages to save some friends and strangers before his vision comes true. However, as we all know, Death isn’t about to be cheated.

Star Wars #1

A new Star Wars comic begins here. Set some time after the events of The Return of the Jedi, in the early days of the New Republic, Star Wars #1 opens with a squad of X-Wings led by Luke Skywalker hunting down pirates who have been harassing ships in nearby sectors. On finding them, the X-Wing pilots are shocked to discover the group has a Star Destroyer forcing a hasty retreat. However, one of Luke’s squad instead heads to the planet to get a look at the mercenary shot down in the battle (who had previously shot down one of the X-Wings), and Luke follows.
