Scream Sunday takes us back to the world of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) in the worst movie (at least so far) of the 30 year-old franchise. The characters feel far too long-in-the tooth at this point as the film goes extra-hard with Stab parody sequel cameos (featuring the likes of Anna Paquin, Kristen Bell, Shenae Grimes, and Lucy Hale) and new Ghostface killings (this time with the killer filming their own murders) while limping to an unsatisfying twist ending that ties in social media feeding narcissism and fame-seeking without delivering a satisfying conclusion.

Introducing them first separately before throwing the two characters together, we witness Sherlock Holmes (David Thewlis) refusing to take several cases in the notable absence of Dr. Watson. We also witness the resilient Amelia Rojas (Blu Hunt) make her way from New York to London and, through a bit of quick thinking and subterfuge, find her way to the great detective as his new maid. What Amelia is really after is for Holmes, who she believes to be her father, to help solve her mother’s murder. Also, in the coincidence that keeps them together long enough for Holmes to get a feel for the young woman, she is determined to help solve the disappearance of a wealthy young girl (Gia Hunter) she met on the ship from America (apparently one of many targeted by the mysterious “Thread”).

Titans #22

A new arc begins here beginning with a flashback to Absolute Power and explaining it was Terra who restored and freed Deathstroke during Amanda Waller‘s reign of tyranny. Jumping forward, we don’t get a confrontation between the Titans and their deadliest foe, instead we get the group (with Vanadia) looking over a crime scene where Nightwing reconstructs the events of a prison break (“Boy-Wondering” as Starfire calls it) providing the action of the issue in another series of flashbacks.
