With the future of the show still up in the air, the Second Season of The Irrational concludes with Alec (Jesse L. Martin) and Rose (Karen David) helping smooth over a prisoner transfer that involves a friend of Alec imprisoned in Russia, along with two other Americans, for a valuable Russian asset (Eugene Lipinski) currently imprisoned in the United States. “To Have and to Hold” focuses as much on the underappreciated Mary Jo (Tyla Abercrumbie) as the case of the week which involves the death of a woman recently released from prison for stealing millions of her clients money. The tie-in with NIS is the woman’s husband who believed the woman  had changed, although facts uncovered over the course of the investigation suggest otherwise. Notably, it’s another episode of the series where Gibbs (Austin Stowell) is pushed mainly to the sideline while other characters are highlighted.

Uncanny X-Men #12

While the first few pages do play into recent events including the training of the young Outliers and and Rogue‘s concern about maybe being too hard on Jitter, Uncanny X-Men #12 is really a standalone issue that takes advantage of this group of X-Men setting up shop in Cajun country to offer a one-off story with ties to Gambit‘s past when a note appears for the X-Man.

While it’s a family affair for Angie (Erika Christensen) and Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) investigating a man murdered over a sandwich, Will (Ramón Rodríguez) and Faith (Iantha Richardson) look into the murder of a teenage girl who seemed to have trouble with everyone at a prestigious dance academy. The show brings back the trope of Will being haunted by Whitney McAdams (Briyana Guadalupe) who forces him to look deeper into the situation and uncover not only the truth of a murder by also exposing a stepfather gaslighting his teenage daughter.
