A follow-up to Amazon’s Jack Ryan series, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War pulls retired CIA analyst Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) back into action. While doing a favor for his old friend, Ryan will discover disturbing truths while hunting down a ghost from James Greer’s (Wendell Pierce) past obsessed with returning to the morally reprehensible enhanced anti-terrorism measures post-9/11 which he believes were all that saved the world from destruction (and are still needed to keep the world safe today).

After stopping for some flashbacks with the young hero Prion training with Batman, Black Canary, and Green Arrow, Detective Comics #1109 picks up the thread from the last issue’s cliffhanger ending with Green Arrow saving himself after being thrown off a skyscraper by a deceptively skilled girl (who apparently is also Prion and works for Prion?). Oliver’s actions to save himself are narrated by Batman who, after managing to pull him to safely, the archer finds waiting for him and willing to help “if necessary.”
