Attempting to lay low as bearded hermit in one of the largest cities, Jack is discovered by a bounty-hunter named Robo-Merc forcing him to flee once more. Elementary - Enough Nemesis to Go Around

Eight months after Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) left New York without even a farewell to begin working for MI6, the Third Season of Elementary picks up with his return. In his absence Watson (Lucy Liu) has carved out her own thriving consulting detective office, although she has struggled for months bringing down the new head of a local crime family (Gina Gershon). Holmes’ sudden return is met with surprise rather than joy, as is the news that he has taken on a new protege (Ophelia Lovibond) whose own backstory and motives remain murky at this point.

Stalker - The Haunting

Set during Halloween, Beth (Maggie Q) and Jack (Dylan McDermott) investigate the stalking and terrorizing of a college freshman (Lyndon Smith). At first most of the evidence points to her ex-boyfriend and frat boy friends, but looking a little deeper into the history of the supposedly haunted house the girl and her roommate (Meagan Tandy) recently moved into offers other motives as well.

Begin Again

Released this week on Blu-ray and DVD, writer/director John Carney‘s tale of the unexpected friendship between a down-on-his luck record label exec (Mark Ruffalo) and a heartbroken singer-songwriter (Keira Knightley) ranked at the top of my favorite films from the first-half of 2014. My opinion hasn’t changed.

With a pair of terrific leads and a talented support cast that includes Hailee Steinfeld, Catherine Keener, Adam Levine, Mos Def, and James Corden, the movie works as well on home video as it did in theaters as the mismatched pair of attempt to record an album on the fly around New York City in an enterprise that is at least as much about getting over life’s recent hurdles as the finished project. For more, read my original review.

The Blu-ray includes music videos for the movie’s big numbers and a single behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of the film.
