After last month’s reveal that Cyborg-Superman is behind the takeover of the Watchtower, The Question: All Along the Watchtower #4 deals mainly with the Question‘s guilt at not stopping him and then bringing Batwoman and Animal Man to her side, and eventually Nightshade as well, and attempting to fight back before the super-villain has an attempt to make good on his threat to employ the Watchtower’s self-destruct with the members of the Justice League aboard.

“You Want a Real Costume, Right?” gets off to a bit of an odd start extended sequence with no dialogue with two super-powered robbers without a real explanation. The segment isn’t bad, it is just never explained (and neither baddie’s ability seems to tie into this). However, the end to that story with Oliver (Christian Convery) inserting himself into Mark (Steven Yeun) super-heroing is the major focus of the episode as Oliver gets his first costume (and Mark gets a rebrand), heading into a situation where Oliver proves himself to be his father’s son by brutally murdering the Maulers (Kevin Michael Richardson) to the utter horror of Mark and the GDA.

Jenny Sparks #7

The seven-issue mini-series comes to a close with a final war of words between Jenny Sparks and Captain Atom. Jenny Sparks #7 hits emotional beats in getting us to Jenny, unable to beat the Captain, finding a way to psychologically and emotionally play him instead allowing for a return to normalcy for this Black Label version of the DCU.
