Dead Boy Detectives #2

Dead Boy Detectives #2The second issue of the new series picks up with Crystal already beginning to regret her decision to attend St. Hilarions while being tortured by some of her classmates and continuing to investigate the two ghosts which led her here. And, despite her personal experiences that have taught her to remain isolated, Crystal manages to make a new friend.

Along with following Crystal’s early days in the twisted boarding school with the regular issues of trying to fit in, the second issue begins to fill in her backstory by revealing that the Dead Boy Detectives weren’t the first ghosts the young woman has seen and how a traumatic event from her past, as much as the mystery of the two boys, is driving her for answers.

Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine also are surprised to see how good Crystal is at snooping already uncovering more about their deaths in a few days than they two have found in years. Does this mean a proper team-up is in order? And just what hell will be unleashed once others discover their snooping? Worth a look.

The Batista Bomb

The Batista Bomb

It’s not uncommon for the WWE to call on a former wrestler to headline Wrestlemania. Nor is breaking with tradition to have someone unexpected return at the Royal Rumble and win the chance to face the champion at the WWE’s biggest night of the year. It’s also quite common for the company to take advantage of any current or former superstar’s success outside of the ring in an attempt to draw a bit of that spotlight on the sports entertainment company during it’s big night.

With all that said it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that Dave Batista returned to the WWE given both his upcoming role as Drax the Destroyer in Marvel Entertainment’s Guardians of the Galaxy this summer and his past associations with current heads of the company Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. What is surprising is how thoroughly the WWE has managed to botch every aspect of Batista’s return which leaves the company, only a few weeks removed from the Royal Rumble, in need of serious damage control.

Although all evidence points to the show’s lead, an experienced diva (Aleksa Palladino), Holmes believes the woman is innocent (even if she does know the victim far better than she lets on). His suspicions are confirmed after he sleeps with the woman, but proving her innocence (especially after her affair with the victim becomes public) is a little harder to prove.
