“The dinosaur in Doug Newbern’s backyard did indeed escape my notice.”

Elementary - Dead Clade Walking

When Watson (Lucy Liu) pokes around one of Sherlock Holmes‘ (Jonny Lee Miller) old unsolved murders she finds something the detective missed the first time around: a Paleozoic rock with the fossilized skeleton of a complete dinosaur inside. The discovery of the fossil leads the pair into the world of smuggling, and after a notorious smuggler known only as The Magpie whose agents liberate the fossil from the NYPD while posing as Custom Agents. Leading into the final commercial break of White Collar‘s Fifth Season’s finale (which if you are counting is one full year longer than Neal’s actual sentence) it appeared for an instant the show was ready to force some hard choices on Neal and Peter (Tim DeKay) as both had achieved everything they could have hoped for through their partnership. While house-sitting a cat food company’s mascot, Simon (Robin Williams), Zach (James Wolk), and Andrew (Hamish Linklater) attempt to come up with a marketing campaign which becomes difficult when the firm’s new quantitative analyst shoots down all of their ideas. After making, and then losing,  a bet with “the Quant” (Sandeep Parikh) on which the fate of the direction of the campaign’s pitch lies, which leads Simon to throw-in the towel on creativity in favor of Colin’s mathematical formulas and graphs (and begin playing his bagpipes of sadness).
