A Shared Moment

Today finds many new releases (like the ones Ian was kind enough to share) which includes a Special Edition of 2005’s Pride & Prejudice (read the full review).  So today we’ll take a few minutes time to share this scene from the film featuring the grumpy Mr. Darcy (Mattheew McFadyen) and the lovley Miss Elizabeth (Keira Knightly, in an Oscar nominated performance).  Enjoy!  Larger version available in the Full Diagnosis.

This Week in Animated Film

Based on the epic poem, this animated version tells the tale of the great warior Beowulf (Ray Winstone) and his battles against Grendel (Crispin Glover), Grendel’s mother (Angelina Jolie), and a dragon.  Other voice talents include Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich, Robin Wright Penn, and Alison Lohman.  Check out the official site.  The film opens in theaters and in IMAX everywhere on Friday.  Larger trailer available in the Full Diagnosis.

Writer/director Brian De Palma‘s (Femme Fatale, Carlito’s Way, The Black Dahlia – read that review) latest is a series of stories focusing on US soldiers fighting in Iraq and how the media covers the events.  The cast includes Patrick Carroll, Rob Devaney, Izzy Diaz, Mike Figueroa, and Ty Jones.  The film earned De Palma the prestigious Silver Lion award for directing at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.  Check out the official site.  The film opens in limited release in select cities on Friday.  Larger trailer available in the Full Diagnosis.
