Randy‘s (Caleb Foote) birthday and Franks (Kyle Schmid) growing agitation with too much change in his life anchor the episode where the NIS team looks to solve the death of a Marine found in an abandoned house in what appears to be part of some bizarre ritual. Believing he entered a similar case into the computer, Randy spends too much time in his search for Franks’ liking leading to a confrontation which also highlights Randy’s personality and making the best of a bad situation (even if Franks’ actions do manage to draw his ire).

Rental Family

Based on a real practice in Japan where a company offers professional stand-ins to clients, Rental Family stars Brendan Fraser as a struggling actor living in Japan who is initially hired to be a token white guy for a client setting up their own funeral. Confused, but in need of work, Phillip (Fraser) agrees further roles (most of which are covered in montages while two key roles make up the core of the main story).

Batman #162

The H2SH storyline continues as Hush‘s machinations have turned the Bat-Family against Batman. It’s not really explained how he did that in this issue, but it’s happened enough times over the years that even if you are picking up this issue without reading the larger storyline it’s easy enough to go with the flow. The art is good, the yellow oval Bat-symbol is back, and we get plenty of Bat-on-Bat action.

Along with Judy (Reese Lores) and Trudy Dent (Natalie Palamides), Damian hatches a plan to sneak off on a field trip to S.T.A.R. Labs and break into the secure crime wing. Unable to chaperone, because of more Damian shenanigans, Bruce finds a way to push himself into the trip anyway making Damian’s plan all that harder to pull off.

Wicked: For Good

Presenting the second-half of the Broadway musical Wicked as its own movie, I’ll admit enjoying Wicked: For Good slightly more than Wicked: Part I. Tension is already set at the beginning of the film as time has past since Elphaba Thropp’s (Cynthia Erivo) decision to stand against the Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum). And, honestly, things are not going all that great for the most powerful witch in Oz. The Wizard’s soldiers are hunting her with his propaganda machine in full gear painting Elphaba as the cause for all evil. And the animals which Elphaba wishes to save, those who aren’t being caged, are fleeing Oz in great numbers unable to trust any humans.
