G.I. JOE #13 kicks off a new arc that, despite being set in a shared universe with the Transformers, feels very much like a classic G.I. JOE story. Much like in the original G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero cartoon, Cobra Commander sends Cobra forces across the globe in search of resources for his plans (which in this case are Energon).
