The final two episodes of the season focus on Oliver (Martin Short), Charles (Steve Martin), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) solving not one murder but two and also saving their homes from being demolished to build New York City’s first casino. With the help of the robot, the trio is able to learn Lester (Teddy Coluca) killed Nicky (Bobby Cannavale), whose finger was chopped off in the underground speakeasy, and who was responsible for Lester’s death. The finale successfully wraps up the loose ends, and gets our trio out from under the thumbs of the billionaires, while also (as is the show’s custom from the beginning) setting up next season’s murder.

Warfare

  • Title: Warfare
  • IMDb: link

Crafted from the memories of the soldiers who lived through events, Warfare documents a Navy SEAL platoon deployed at night into a two-story home in the Anbar Province. Narratively weak, the film doesn’t attempt to put events of the film into any historical context, nor does it offer any explanation as to why this location is of any strategic importance. Instead we’re thrown into the situation with the (mostly interchangeable and underdeveloped) soldiers who live through the lulls and extreme action that make up modern warfare as they attempt to survive and escape a situation that quickly grows untenable.
