However, instead of leading him back to spy headquarters, Alex accidentally stumbles into a stakeout and the attempted capture of a cyber-hacker who recently made an attack on the Pentagon.

“Ransom” concludes as Miyamoto Usagi, Yukichi Yamamoto, and Kitsune look to rescue the kidnapped Kiyoko. The ransom trade is complicated by a few factors including Kiyoko freeing herself before her friends even arrive and the ledger that Boss Hasegawa wants in exchange for Kiyoko being stolen back by one of his own agents.
It doesn’t take long before all hell to break loose. Although our protagonists come out victorious, and Kistune and Kiyoko find a way to make a profit on the ordeal, Usagi has made a new enemy in Boss Hasegawa (but also a new friend in Aoki, the honorable samurai who accepts Usagi’s wisdom about not serving an dishonorable lord). The ronins hit the road once more, but where will their travels take them next and will Yukichi get to meet any more of Usagi’s friends?

The second episode of Hit-Monkey takes our unlikely duo of a murderous monkey and his ghostly sidekick Bryce (Jason Sudeikis) into Tokyo in search of those responsible for the death of the assassin and the monkey’s tribe. “Bright Lights, Big City” reveals how Hit-Monkey acquires his suit and introduces him to Akiko (Olivia Munn), who has convinced her father (George Takei) to run in the election in place of the assassinated candidate, at the man’s funeral (which quickly devolves into a bloody shoot-out between Hit-Monkey and the Yakuza).

Mayday

Mayday is a far less creepy and sexually-explorative version of similar themes found in Zack Snyder‘s 2011 travesty Sucker Punch. Grace Van Patten stars as Ana, an abused and unappreciated hotel worker who retreats from her world into a fantasy where she awakes as part of a small all-girl battalion acting as sirens leading soldiers to their death with a series of false mayday messages that steer them into oncoming storms.
The movie is primarily focused on Ana, her introduction and ultimate rebellion against her new life bringing her into conflict with the sirens’ leader Marsha (Mia Goth). Figures from Ana’s real life appear as different characters on the island including her brutal boss and a few of her coworkers. Mayday is an interesting idea on a shoestring budget that doesn’t quite work but does offer a solid message about standing up for yourself, embracing life’s hardships, and not running away from your problems.
