Red Hood and the Outlaws #15 comic reviewThe Outlaws’ announcement to Gotham’s heroes that they are no longer needed doesn’t exactly sit well with Batwoman and the Detective Comics team. Despite the fact that the Red Hood‘s team has been able to drop Gotham’s crime rate to almost nothing, the bravado of their announcement forces an inevitable conflict between the two groups starting with Clayface‘s kidnapping of Bizarro and ending with a full-on fight between the two groups.

The way Red Hood and the Outlaws #15 unfolds it’s hard to take Batwoman or any of her team seriously as heroes. The Outlaws are outperforming the rest of Gotham’s vigilantes, essentially doing their job better. Batwoman’s reaction to this is to kidnap a member of the Outlaws and then have her team beat on the other group because… well, that’s the issue isn’t it?

Once Upon a Time - Hyperion Heights television review

Set years after the Sixth Season finale, Once Upon a Time returns by plagiarizing itself as a young girl named Lucy (Alison Fernandez) shows up on the doorstep of an adult Henry (Andrew J. West) claiming that Cinderella (Dania Ramirez) is her mother, Henry is her father, and an entire city of fairy tale characters is in danger. The Seventh Season premiere, missing a good chunk of the show’s core cast, is a lukewarm reboot for the show lacking the magic of the original. Not only are Emma, Snow White, Prince Charming, and others missing, but even the town of Storybrooke has been replaced with a Seattle borough known as Hyperion Heights.

SEAL Team - Other Lives television review

While looking into an accident at a secret chemical weapons factory in Syria, Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) and his team discover an entire hospital full of civilians exposed to the spill. With no back-up, and limited transportation, the group does what they can to make the locals comfortable while holding out long enough for the rest of their team to get the SEALs the support they will need to evacuate the locals. As we saw in the pilot episode, the overseas sequences work well (even if the last-second problem solving this week feels more like a writer’s cheat than an actual solution found in the field).

The third episode of The Orville makes a dramatic turn after two episodes setting up the show as sitcom with Star Trek trappings. “About a Girl” centers around the Orville’s second officer Lt. Commander Bortus (Peter Macon) and his mate Klyden (Chad L. Coleman) whose baby is born female – a cultural deformity according to the pair’s race. After Dr. Finn (Penny Johnson Jerald) refuses to perform a sex change on the infant, Bortus and Klyden request assistance from their government leading to a trial on their homeworld with Commander Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki) pleading for the baby to remain female.

Preacher - The End of the Road television review

The Second Season of Preacher wraps up with more of a whimper than a bang. After being stuck in neutral for most of this season, the show moves microscopically forward with Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) admitting the hard truth to himself about his son, albeit in a completely selfish way, providing the beginning of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) working as Klaus Starr‘s (Pip Torrens) new messiah, and offering a pair of deaths which should finally force the show to move out of the rut it has gotten stuck in since landing in New Orleans.
