In what is certainly a lesser Michael Mann film, Chris Hemsworth stars as hacker Nicholas Hathaway released from prison to help a joint taskforce between the United States and China headed by Hathaway’s college roommate PLA Captain Chen Dawai (Leehom Wang). The small group also includes Dawai’s sister Chen Lien (Tang Wei) with Viola Davis and Holt McCallany making up the American side of the group. While not connected to the cyber-attacks themselves, Hathaway is responsible for the code used by the hackers to break into systems in both the United States and China.

Released 40 years ago, Spies Like Us stars Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd as a pair of governmental screw-ups turned would-be spies. Needing decoys for a top secret project, the Defense Intelligence Agency rush the pair through training and thrown into the field with the belief that they will take focus off the real team deployed into the Soviet Union (with the mission to fire a ICBM at the United States). Of course the running gag of the movie is that the pair manage to somehow keep getting out of trouble and by the end the fate of the entire world will rest in their hands.

Cheetah & Cheshire Rob the Justice League #2 inches the storyline forward with both Cheetah and Cheshire recruiting members for a heist of the Justice League Watchtower. The standout moment of the issues involve Cheetah recruiting Klarion as those they dismiss in their  conversation get barely a mention, and their other recruits are far from top-shelf.

Following their escape from the secret facility, “Villa Paradiso” and “The Queen’s Court” focus on Ben (Sean Giambrone), Kenji (Darren Barnet), Darius (Paul-Mikél Williams), Yaz (Kausar Mohammed), Sammy (Raini Rodriguez) making it to the home of Ben’s girlfriend Gia (Beatrice Grannò) where their short respite is complicated by an unknown dinosaur in the area, Gia’s grandmother (Isabella Rossellini) and her hatred of dinosaurs, and the hatching of Bumpy‘s egg. We also catch up to Brooklyn (Kiersten Kelly), with a fancy new robotic arm, now working for Soyona Santos (Dichen Lachman) in her really awful plan to expose dino smuggling.

Part of the shared YRF Spy Universe, 2019’s War stars Hrithik Roshan as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, the best agent of R&AW who goes rogue forcing his prized pupil Captain Khalid Rahmani (Tiger Shroff) to go after him. Kabir’s struggles with initially training Khalid (although the film is dripping with homoerotic overtones regardless whether they are working together or opposed in any individual scene), and his reasons for later going rogue, are shown in extended flashbacks finally uncovering the motivation for the spy’s killing spree and ultimate goal.
