Team MacGyver deals with the quarantine in “Quarantine + N95 + Landline + Telescope + Social Distance” which offers a look at how Mac (Lucas Till), Bozer (Justin Hires), and Riley (Tristin Mays) have been spending their free time. In a not-so-subtle Rear Window homage, Bozer sees what he believes to be a murder of one of their neighbors. Initially it appears that he is mistaken, but there’s more going on as the neighbors have been taken prisoner by a gang hoping to use the couple’s son to steal from a mall that has been shutdown during the quarantine. The episode makes good use of quarantine conditions to further the plot and involves the unusual invention of a temporary invisibility cloak which allows Team MacGyver to get close to the criminals and rescue their hostage.

Throwback Thursday takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police officers turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. When an old friend (Fawne Harriman) of Sabrina (Kate Jackson) reaches out for help, the Angels set out to find who is harassing the stewardess. Kris (Cheryl Ladd) and Kelly (Jaclyn Smith) go undercover as new trainees while Sabrina plays herself, just an old friend in town for a few days. Despite the skill we’ve seen up until this point, the Angels miss some vital clues about the value of the experimental auto-pilot system the airline is launching with their training flight. It’s almost too late before they learn one of the pilots is attempting to steal the plane with the unwitting help of Sabrina’s friend.

Prodigal Son - Alma Mater television review

“Alma Mater” sends Malcolm (Tom Payne) back to the boarding school where he attempted to remake himself to help solve the murder of the headmaster who expelled him. The episode presents three cheating students (Lily Ganser, Arthur Langlie, and Salena Qureshi) with obvious motive not only for the crime but the prankish presentation of the body, although a late redirect works as a red herring. It also allows Malcolm to revisit the cause of a vicious attack he suffered as a student and raise questions about what led to a traumatic event that followed. The episode is most notable for flashbacks which reveal the source of Malcolm’s hand tremor, which has been a staple of the show, while also highlighting the similarities and differences between Malcolm and his father. Speaking of dear old dad, the Surgeon’s (Michael Sheen) plans on escape take one giant step forward thanks to the help of one of his fellow inmates.

Legacies returns for its Third Season with Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) in a magical coma refusing to wake and Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) still dead, and his disembodied spirit refusing to return to his body in an attempt to keep the Necromancer (Ben Geurens) from acquiring a boatload of black magic. Set only days after the events of last year’s finale, much of the episode deals with Josie‘s (Kaylee Bryant) role as a pariah within the school and Alaric (Matthew Davis) and MG (Quincy Fouse organizing a field day for the student body in an attempt to get back to normal. However, the arrival of Nimue (Theodora Miranne) and the Green Knight takes the day in a darker direction than planned.

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the courtroom of Perry Mason. Perry Mason (Raymond Burr) is in good form in “The Case of the Nervous Accomplice” as he’s able smartly outthink the prosecution in a murder case long enough to prove his client (Margaret Hayes), who he was helping attempt to salvage her marriage, is innocent of murder. First, with the help of the defendant’s best friend, Mason is able to cloud the testimony of the taxi driver who picked up the woman from the crime scene. Next, he’s able to prove his theory of how the victim was killed providing doubt about the murder weapon. And finally, with more pizazz than the judge (Morris Ankrum) deems necessary, he’s able to stage a recreation in the courtroom to force a confession of the nervous accomplice (Greta Thyssen) to the murder who helped dispose of evidence after the fact.
