Altered Carbon - Experiment Perilous television review

Discovering there is as second consciousness within Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry), Kovacs (Anthony Mackie) calls on the help of Dig 301 (Dina Shihabi) and Poe (Chris Conner) to load both of them into VR where they hope to separate and contain the second personality obsessed with killing the founders. “Experiment Perilous” offers explanation for several of the season’s questions including Quell’s abilities to permanently kill someone and rain down Angel Fire, a skill that Governor Danica Harlan (Lela Loren) desperately wants for herself, by revealing the second personality is actually an Elder seeking vengeance for the murder of the last of her kind. The other Kovacs (Will Yun Lee) and Jaeger (Torben Liebrecht) hacking into the VR doesn’t prevent Kovacs from saving Quell but it does allow the trapped elder a means of escape back into the real world.

Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry) recovers her memory, believing he’s killed the other version of himself the clone of Takeshi Kovacs (Will Yun Lee) attempts to win over Quell and learn about her secret weapon. Things don’t go exactly as planned as Quell provides some insight into what became of his sister in the centuries that have passed and the, still living, other version of Kovacs (Anthony Mackie) and Trepp (Simone Missick) take out the rest of Carrera‘s (Torben Liebrecht) men with the help of new friends (who it turns out are all that friendly after all).

Super Dinosaur - Invasion of the Dynamo Dome television review

Picking up where “Dynore Quest” left off, “Invasion of the Dynamo Dome” features the Dino-Men’s invasion of the Dynamo Dome. Max Maximus‘ (Marco Soriano) victory is short-lived, however, as Tricerachops (Kathleen Barr) and the Dino-Men mutiny against their creator and though him in the brig with the others. Working with Maximus, the Dynamos, the Kingstons, and Super Dinosaur (Mac Heywood) take back the dome before dinosaurs from Inner Earth make their way to the surface. The episode is notable for the ridiculous visual of SD crawling through air ducts (seriously, how big are these things?) and Erica (Shannon Chan-Kent) redeeming herself a bit by preventing the inevitable Maximus double-cross.

Silk Stalkings - Squeeze Play television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to the unsolved crimes of passion in the wealthy playground of Palm Beach, Florida. Chris (Rob Estes) and Rita (Mitzi Kapture) catch a case where one of Rita’s ex-boyfriends (Dan Gauthier) is the prime suspect in a murder. The crime takes place in the pre-credit sequence where the ballplayer was making out with a married woman (Bonnie Burroughs) in her driveway leading to an altercation between the athlete and her older husband (Kevin Bash). It doesn’t help his case that the woman’s story sets him off as a sexual predator and paints her husband as hero attempting to rescue her.

Following the pair back to their village, Catwoman discovers the harsh reality of what Snowflame is doing on Isla Nevada and vows to put a stop to it.

Disrupting the auction, Catwoman #24 offers a battle between Catwoman and the super-powered Snowflame whose abilities mirror those of the drug produced across Isla Nevada. Selina also steals Snowflame’s files and leaves the man at the mercy of the island natives who his forces have subjugated and enslaved.
