Hanna - Friend television review

The second episode of the series starts not with Hanna (Esme Creed-Miles), and her recent capture, but with the introduction of Sophie (Rhianne Barret) and her family. Following a scene showcasing the family’s normal dysfunction hitting the road on vacation, only then does the story circle back to Hanna interrogated at the CIA black site. As in the movie, Marissa (Mireille Enos) makes use of a stand-in (Michelle Duncan) that allows Hanna to believe she has successfully killed the person responsible for her mother’s death prior to escaping the facility. The chance meeting between Sophie and Hanna not only allows Hanna to escape the desert (and later Morocco) but also get a glimpse at a more “normal” family and her first taste of friendship.

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #262

G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #262 comic reviewG.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #262 isn’t a great issue for members of Cobra. Desto and the Baroness‘ attempt to take out Revanche ends poorly for the pair when they find themselves up against an artificial intelligence that takes control them both. Now, what does it have planned?

While the Joes successfully find the various devices Dr. Mindbender hid within the prosthetic he offers to Sightline (although perhaps not all of them – don’t get too cocky there Duke), the gift does return news to an irate Cobra Commander that the Joes have more than one Snake Eyes on the roster. As for Sightline, the integration of the new limb is near instantaneous and gives the soldier back full use of faculties (perhaps even enhancing them a bit).

Elementary - The Further Adventures television review

Several months have past since the show’s Sixth Season finale, originally intended as a series finale, which saw Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) forced to relocate from New York to London. Now working for Scotland Yard, Holmes and Watson are in good form (although Joan still struggles to fit into the new city). Surprisingly, the New York storyline is still in place as Marcus Bell (Jon Michael Hill) finishes his final days in the department and urges Gregson (Aidan Quinn) to make things right with the pair of consulting detectives who took the fall for the murder his daughter (Liza J. Bennett) committed. It appears this thread is more than just epilogue, as the final sequence foreshadows the detectives return to New York putting Sherlock’s freedom in jeopardy.

James Bond 007 #7

James Bond 007 #7 comic reviewJames Bond 007 #7 flushes out the story a bit more as Bond learns at least the outline of Goldfinger‘s plans which involve an African diamond mine. Action is a bit light in the issue, other than Bond accosting one of Goldfinger’s minions for information and another go-around with Mr. Lee (who Bond finds working for Goldfinger).

As in the original movie, the issue offers up a first encounter between James Bond and Auric Goldfinger than involves the British spy ruining a rigged poker game. This time around the action is at a casino rather than poolside (and no unlucky woman takes the punishment).
