Eureka - Pilot

The audience is introduced to the sleepy northwestern town of Eureka through the eyes of U.S. Marshall Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) who stumbles on the town while dragging his willful teenage daughter Zoe (Jordan Hinson) back home to her mother. Stranded until his car can be fixed, Carter can’t help but notice the odd occurrences in the town or become curious about the bizarre happenings. The Syfy Channel would offer five years of such odd happenings with events beginning here in Eureka‘s “Pilot” episode.

Jesse (Dominic Cooper) is feeling pretty good about himself. His ability to turn Odin Quincannon (Jackie Earle Haley) towards God has made him the town’s new hero (even if neither he, nor the town, see how “well” this turns out for Odin’s potential business partners). Continuing to use his gift to increase the size of his flock and help with the questions brought to him by his parishioners, Jesse even goes so far as to bring some peace to Eugene (Ian Colletti) by forcing Terri Loach (Bonita Friedericy) to forgive the man for her daughter’s vegetative state. Of course the final scene of Jesse meeting DeBlanc (Tom Brooke) and Fiore (Anatol Yusef) for the first time, and learning what he has inside him may be far more complicated than what he believes, may just damage the preacher’s calm.

Samurai Jack - Episode IV

An initial error in judgement by Samurai Jack (Phil LaMarr) is put right in “Episode IV.” Witnessing a runaway Woolie burst through the forest, Jack wrangles the animal and returns it to the mounted Chritchellites who were perusing it on other Woolies. Invited to their village, a starving Jack accepts despite having serious objections to how the the strangers are treating the Woolies. Learning that the Woolies, tortured for the Chritchellites amusement, can speak, Jack decides something must be done about the situation. A dream leads Jack on the proper course of action. Freeing the Woolie he helped capture, Jack and the creature help break the Chritchellites’ dominance of the Woolies, freeing the creatures and sending the aliens back into the spaceships to flee.
