Scorpion - Father's Day

While Paige (Katharine McPhee) deals with the unexpected return of Ralph’s (Riley B. Smith) father (Brendan Hines), something each member of the team decides to weigh-in on, Walter (Elyes Gabel) and the group investigate the prison break involving a borderline-genius hacker and two members of the Russian mob who they believe may have kidnapped the computer genius to exploit his code. The true story behind the plan to siphon money off of the stock market is a little more complicated but seeing the “normals” take advantage of a gifted individual and fearing Ralph may suffer the same fate causes Walter to dwell on his own betrayals.

Once Upon a Time - Family Business

Continuing this season’s Frozen storyline, “Family Business” doesn’t focus on the Snow Queen (Elizabeth Mitchell) or Elsa (Georgina Haig) but on Belle (Emilie de Ravin) who we learn has been keeping a secret concerning Elsa’s lost sister Anna (Elizabeth Lail). Consumed with guilt, Belle uses he dagger (which I forget whether it’s real or not at this point) to force her husband into helping her not aware that what she’s looking for is already in his possession. Flashbacks to the episode not only offer a look at Belle’s trip to Arendelle and the tragic meeting with Anna but also provide the moment where Belle first learned the name Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle).

Doctor Who - Dark Water

The first-half of Doctor Who‘s two-part season finale begins with the death of a major character and ends with the return of a familiar foe (although not the one I was hoping for). Despite the mysterious set-up of 3W, a company providing afterlife for the recently deceased, “Dark Water” doesn’t work as well for me as it should since it relies so heavily on a relationship the season has never quite sold me on especially given the amount of foreshadowing about how important Danny Pink would be to Clara’s travels with The Doctor coming to an end.

Stalker - The Haunting

Set during Halloween, Beth (Maggie Q) and Jack (Dylan McDermott) investigate the stalking and terrorizing of a college freshman (Lyndon Smith). At first most of the evidence points to her ex-boyfriend and frat boy friends, but looking a little deeper into the history of the supposedly haunted house the girl and her roommate (Meagan Tandy) recently moved into offers other motives as well.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - A Fractured House

When HYDRA mercenaries begin publicly targeting high-profile targets under the guise of being S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Coulson (Clark Gregg) orders his various agents around the world to go to ground and sends May (Ming-Na Wen), Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki), and Hunter (Nick Blood) to prevent the next attack. The poor publicity, the need for a politician on their side, and the unique leverage they can bring to bear also causes Coulson to reach out to Senator Christian Ward (Tim DeKay) who is either kinder or most sadistic member of the Ward family depending on who you chose to believe.
