Thanos Loses comic reviewThanos Loses collects five separate issues from Marvel Comics, each featuring a victory over the Mad Titan by various Marvel Heroes. Taken out of context, some story elements are lost here but the individual issues do provide what the comic promises.

Guardians Of the Galaxy #25 features a rampaging resurrected Thanos being taken down by the Guardians of the Galaxy in a storyline that also includes appearances by the original Guardians. While Secret Wars #8 features little of the Mad Titan, the universe-resetting event does feature one of his most complete defeats at the hands of Victor von Doom.

Harley Quinn - Til Death Do Us Part TV review

I’ve watched the first five episodes of DC Universe’s Harley Quinn and the show’s premiere “Til Death Do Us Part” is the weakest of the bunch. (Sadly, it’s also the only one to feature the character’s original costume.) “Til Death Do Us Part” Opens with Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) growing tired of her sidekick role with the Joker (Alan Tudyk) but unable to break the pull the Crown Prince of Crime has on her. The show’s opener features Joker abandoning her, leaving her to rot in Arkham Asylum for a full year, and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) working to help her friend get over her puddin’.

The Flash - Liberation television review

Following Barry‘s (Grant Gustin) realization that there is something wrong with his wife, The Flash turns its attention on the mirror Iris (Candice Patton) and the machinations of Eva McCulloch (Efrat Dor). Despite putting off some serious conspiracy-theorist vibes, Barry is able to enlists others to his cause. However, the mirror version of his wife has one last trick up her sleeve turning the tables on the Flash giving the mirror minions the chance to obtain the final piece of the puzzle to allow the Mirror Master to return to the real world. Events come to a head with the limited-powered Flash getting his butt kicked by the Mirror Master and a bit of a schmaltzy epilogue featuring Iris and Barry separated from each other for the foreseeable future.

Scooby-Doo! - Decoy for a Dognapper television review

Throwback Tuesday takes us back to Scooby Doo, Where Are You! for another mystery involving some meddling kids and their talking dog. “Decoy for a Dognapper” is a rarity in that Scooby-Doo (Don Messick) brings a case to the gang after witnessing a dognapper steal a prize dog away from its owner, making it the latest in a series of dognappings. While things will get a splash of supernatural about halfway through the episode, the theft of dogs is also notable for being one of the most simple mysteries the gang ever investigated. Dressing up Scooby as the next likely dog to be taken leads Mystery, Inc. to an Indian village in the side of a cliff where they encounter both the Ghost of Geronimo and an Indian Witch Doctor (Messick).

Star Wars Adventures #31

Star Wars Adventures #31 comic reviewStar Wars Adventures #31 gives us a Rey and Poe Dameron team-up as Rey lives out a long fantasy of spending time flying a working X-Wing and gets some piloting pointers from the Resistance’s best pilot in this all-ages adventure.

The banter between the pair, something not seen much in the sequel films, is the best part of the story. As many of these stories do, “Squad Goals” brings in characters from other corners of the Star Wars galaxy. Issue #31 brings back the buzz droids from Revenge of the Sith who attack Rey and Poe while training as Rey proves an able student for Poe (even if her mentor only destroyed one Death Star).
