Holmes & Houdini #1 brings together the descendants of Sherlock Holmes and Harry Houdini who each are investigating different aspects of the same mystery. Only brought together in the final panel, we’ll have to wait for proper introductions until issue #2. What the first issue does do is introduce both characters separately to the audience. Erica Houdini, magician and thief, puts her unique skills to the test in order to search for information about the death of her boyfriend.

His respite, although fruitful in learning where the Transformer beacon is pointing him, is ultimately cut short as Duke and Clutch are rounded up by Stalker and Rock ‘n Roll and returned to the Pit.

Masters of the Universe: Revolution - Ascension

The two major threads of “Ascension” focus on Adam (Chris Wood) choosing between the crown and He-Man after the arrival of his uncle Keldor (William Shatner) and Teela (Melissa Benoist) beginning her journey to restore Preternia. An invasion by Skeletor (Mark Hamill) and his Motherboard virus which takes a few new victims before being sent packing thanks in large part to Keldor’s heroics making Adam’s choice easier (albeit also tipping the hand to the audience of the obvious twist far, far too soon).

To make it out to the other side, Batman will need to confront the Azmer and Dr. Hurt (who is also the focus of a backup story explaining the madman’s actions through the testimony of some of his victims).

The first issue of Justice Ducks has each of the heroes separately noticing trouble brewing in St. Canard and all arriving on the scene to find a giant menace stomping around town followed by a flying saucer filled with its friends.
