The seven-issue mini-series comes to a close with a final war of words between Jenny Sparks and Captain Atom. Jenny Sparks #7 hits emotional beats in getting us to Jenny, unable to beat the Captain, finding a way to psychologically and emotionally play him instead allowing for a return to normalcy for this Black Label version of the DCU.

After performing an unorthodox loyalty test, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) snoops a bit after hours looking for the missing informant (Storm Steenson) before beginning his job as part of Zachary Beck’s (Anthony Michael Hall) crew. Paired with Angel (Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz), his first job involves looking into the kidnapping which requires some quick thinking on the part of Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy). Although successful, from Reacher’s point of view, things end poorly for Angel who isn’t the only member of the crew Reacher picks a fight with in the episode.

After a few episodes which struggled to make the experiment part of the larger story, “The Milgram Experiment” does just that (although more as an exercise to prove a point than solve a crime). The episode pairs Alec (Jesse L. Martin) and Rose (Karen David) to investigate a deep fake video threatening to take down a local assistant district attorney (Ally McBeal‘s Gil Bellows) with political ambitions. The story has some nice twists involving Alec’s reaction to seeing Rose be differential to her boss (Adam Rayner) and in the discovery of the person (Jess McLeod) actually behind the video.

Headlined by Grant Hill, with interviews from both the Select Team and the 1992 USA Olympic Team, We Beat the Dream Team chronicles the only loss of the greatest basketball team ever assembled in the team’s first informal scrimmage with a group of young college kids, who if not for the Dream Team would have all likely been chose for the Olympics that year, giving them everything the team with 11 Hall of Fame players could handle.

Adapting a different novel for each season, every season of Reacher has been a bit different. That continues in the kick-off of the show’s Third Season where Reacher‘s (Alan Ritchson) good Samaritan schtick gets him in hot water. Saving a young man (Johnny Berchtold) from a kidnapping attempt, things go downhill quickly with our hero having few options and delivering the kid to his wealthy father (Anthony Michael Hall). The rest of the episode involves flashbacks to the days leading up to Reacher’s save, where we learn not everything we’ve seen is exactly as it seems, and Reacher agreeing to work for the wealthy rug importer (but that’s not the only thing he’s importing).
