Madame Web

It’s rare to find a movie that is seemingly as self-aware of being awful as Sony’s Madame Web. I can’t confirm that cast and crew deliberately set out to make a bad B-movie but that’s really the only way that this film’s existence makes any sense. Its mind-blowing faults in every aspect of filmmaking presents an unapologetic dumpster fire to keep you guessing what bad decision, in front or behind the camera, will be made next.

Smallville - Hug

Superman Sunday takes us back to Smallville, Kansas, and the arrival of scumbag salesman Bob Rickman (Rick Peters), able to influence people through his Kryptonite-powered handshake, who comes to town to build a pesticide plant on the Kent farm and deal with his old friend (Gregory Sporleder) who could expose the secret of his persuasion. The B-story of the episode involves a horseback riding accident where Lana (Kristin Kreuk) is unsure whether the town hermit, Bob’s old friend Kyle, was responsible. This causes conflict between Clark (Tom Welling) who thinks the best of him (and sees a bit of himself in the man) and both Lana and Whitney (Eric Johnson) who get angry at Clark for not lying about what he actually saw to help the police to imprison a man Clark feels is innocent.

Zorro - Revenge

Picking up just a few minutes after the previous episode ended with Diego’s (Miguel Bernardeau) secret exposed and him at the mercy of Ramirez, events take an unexpected shift with the arrival of Nah-Lin (Dalia Xiuhcoatl) and her men brutally killing anyone left alive including Ramirez (thus keeping Diego’s secret safe once more). Although Nah-Lin does untie Diego, she also stabs him and leave him to bleed out in the carnage, allowing him to die and her to assume the mantle of Zorro.
