Released 60 years ago, Thunderball was the fourth movie starring Sean Connery as James Bond and remains one of the most successful films of the entire Bond franchise earning back more than 15 times its budget at the box office. MacGyver Monday takes us back to another adventure featuring science-adventurer Angus MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) finds himself working with a young gypsy pickpocket (Kelly McClain) who chose the wrong person to steal from putting her family in danger leading to MacGyver working to free her brother Bruno from prison, and later track down the fence (Sue Kiel) he sold the pocket watch to (unaware of the hidden information inside). However, after finally retrieving the watch, MacGyver finds himself pulled in to getting Jana and all of her family out of Budapest.

In what is certainly a lesser Michael Mann film, Chris Hemsworth stars as hacker Nicholas Hathaway released from prison to help a joint taskforce between the United States and China headed by Hathaway’s college roommate PLA Captain Chen Dawai (Leehom Wang). The small group also includes Dawai’s sister Chen Lien (Tang Wei) with Viola Davis and Holt McCallany making up the American side of the group. While not connected to the cyber-attacks themselves, Hathaway is responsible for the code used by the hackers to break into systems in both the United States and China.
