Believing the location might hold secrets to solve his condition, Batman and Mystery, Inc. join Kirk Langstrom to visit the mansion of Dr, Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The comic plays on the gang’s previous adventure at the mansion in “Nowhere to Hyde” from Scooby Doo, Where Are You! The investigation into a cure is quickly sidetracked both by the discovery of Mr. Hyde (Helga in the costume from the original series) haunting the mansion to protect its secrets and Langstrom transforming into Man-Bat.

When people around Gotham City start turning into gargoyles (or, more accurately grotesques as Velma points out), Mystery, Inc. helps Batman and Robin investigate. Batman is able to surmise people are turning into copies of nearby gargoyles. However, since Gotham City is full of the things that discovery alone doesn’t solve the problem. However, when Oracle can’t find a single reference to any of the victims online, Batman begins to suspect the truth of what is going on.

Sherlock Saturday takes us back to the 1980s for a comic that marked both the 50th anniversary issue for Detective Comics and the 100th anniversary of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s first Sherlock Holmes story, A Study in Scarlet. The double-sized issue offers a case that begins in Gotham City but before all is said and done will take Batman and Robin to London to work alongside private-eye Slam Bradley and the Elongated Man to end the plots of Edgar Moriarty (the great-grandnephew of the original Professor Moriarty).
