A more faithful adaptation to the original Stephen King story than the 1987 film, albeit ignoring King’s far more tragic end which punctuated the hopelessness of a future that looks more possible with every passing day, director Edgar Wright‘s version of The Running Man casts Glen Powell as down-on-his-luck blacklisted worker Ben Richards. In desperate need of medication for his sick daughter, Richards signs up to partake in the world’s most popular game show.

Cat Person

Adapted from the short story of the same name, Cat Person stars Locke & Key‘s Emilia Jones as an overly imaginative college student working part time at a local movie theater. After a couple of awkward conversations with a regular, Margot (Jones) decides to give the older Robert (Nicholas Braun) a chance. A romance that blossoms over texts, however, runs into issues when the two spend more time together in real life.

Locke & Key - The Snow Globe

The show picks up for its final season with the Lockes having an uneventful few months since the end of Dodge (Griffin Gluck). Meanwhile, Captain Frederick Gideon (Kevin Durand) continues to search for the door to no avail. He gets some momentary assistance when Nina (Darby Stanchfield) and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott) find a snow globe and matching key which accidentally unleashes two demons (Diana Bentley and Susanna Fournier) determined to help the Captain. The snow globe, basically allowing someone to enter a snowy version of the reality of Key House when the key is inserted, is another fun addition to the show’s oddities (as is the animal key shown earlier in the episode). Although Bode gets trapped in the globe for much of the episode, Nina and Kinsey (Emilia Jones) are able to defeat the demons trapping them in the mirror.

Two separate plotlines are at play in “Irons in the Fire.” Josh‘s (Brendan Hines) investigation into the journal which  Nina (Darby Stanchfield) provided allows for flashbacks to fill in some of the backstory of the Locke family and their history with the portal to the other dimension, demons, and keys. Elsewhere, Kinsey (Emilia Jones) and Tyler (Connor Jessup) gather their friends and prepare for a fight with the new turned minions of Gabe/Dodge (Griffin Gluck) which ends with one of their friends being turned into a demon leading to the need for a new key.

Locke & Key – The Maze

In an episode that features a literal maze, Kinsey (Emilia Jones) and Tyler (Connor Jessup) do their best to not let Gabe/Dodge (Griffin Gluck) in on the fact that they’ve uncovered his secret or that Duncan‘s (Aaron Ashmore) memory has been restored. Well, batting 500 isn’t bad. Holding back until they can formulate a plan, the discovery of the Chain Key pushes Erin (Joy Tanner) into taking a big risk that allows Dodge to claim another victim, pick up another key, and convince the Lockes that they need to set a trap for their enemy.
