iZombie - Dirt Nap Time / Eat a Knievel TV review

While Liv (Rose McIver) helps Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) investigate the murders of a preschool teacher and a reality-TV adrenaline junkie (Robert Ri’chard) “Dirt Nap Time” and “Eat a Knievel” bring a return to form for Blaine (David Anders). Depressed over his recent break-up with Peyton (Aly Michalka), Blaine’s life gets no easier with his father (Robert Knepper) and Don E (Bryce Hodgson) pushing in on his business and attempting to murder him. Returned to zombie form with a righteous fury, revenge on his dad, and big plans for zombie-kind, it appears the old Blaine is back. While I’m not surprised with the turn, I’d have liked to see the reformed Blaine stick around for a bit longer.

iZombie - Some Like It Hot Mess television review

“Some Like It Hot Mess” proves to be a gamechanger for several characters. With Liv (Rose McIver) on the brain of a scatterbrained millennial she’s of little help to Ravi (Rahul Kohli) in the morgue, Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) on the case, or the Major (Robert Buckley) who slowly begins showing the symptoms of memory loss after his return to human form. The situation also forces Blaine (David Anders) to come clean about a secret he’s been hiding for months, not only does the cure work but the memory loss side-effects are temporary. He remembers everything about his old life, a revelation that Peyton (Aly Michalka) is less than pleased to learn.

iZombie - Spanking the Zombie TV review

While Liv (Rose McIver) eating the brains of a dominatrix turns out to be not as wild a time as expected, “Spanking the Zombie” does provide some fun moments of Liv dominating those around her and allow for the return of a pair of a familiar faces in newsman Cliff McCormack (Daran Norris) and lawyer Brandt Stone (Ken Marino), both clients of the recently departed and suspects in her murder. The latest episode of iZobmie also hastens Major‘s (Robert Buckley) decline to the point where the group has no choice but to give him the cure which may save his life but will also take away his memories. Given the transformation of Blaine (David Anders) after his cure, just who will the new Major turn out to be?

iZombie - Eat, Pray, Liv television review

There’s actually quite a bit going on in “Eat, Pray, Liv” which is held together by the Liv (Rose McIver) becoming more zen after ingesting the brain of a murdered self-help guru, eventually helping Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) solve the man’s murder. The awkwardness between Ravi (Rahul Kohli) and Peyton (Aly Michalka) isn’t improved by Ravi admitting his true feelings or strong-arming Blaine (David Anders) to try the experimental memory cure now that Major (Robert Buckley) is on borrowed time.
