Throughout the season, CBS’ Matlock reboot has played with the idea of Madeline (Kathy Bates) has grown to care for the colleagues she’s working with while secretly spying on them for information related to the death of her daughter. Driven to find the truth, we’ve even seen Maddy close out an episode on the line “we’re not friends.” However, “Friends” showcases how things have changed and how the mock Matlock has come to trust and value Olympia (Skye P. The curmudgeonly Jeremiah O’Keefe (Jones) and the flashy  Willie E. Gary (Foxx) have their ups and downs, but the film is as much (if not more) about the respect and friendship that develops between the unlikely pair as the court case itself.

However, while the ruling led to the creation of those rights and broad protection under the law, its origins are less well known and such a ruling did put one young woman in the crosshairs of history.

Perry Mason - The Case of the Drowning Duck television review

Throwback Thursday takes us back to the courtroom of Perry Mason. There are two crimes for Perry Mason (Raymond Burr) to solve in “The Case of the Drowning Duck,” a recent murder in the small California town and a murder from decades before which may have ended in a miscarriage of justice. Mason’s current client is a young man (Gary Vinson) whose mother was being blackmailed by a seedy private investigator (Harry Landers) who discovered the boy’s father was convicted for a murder decades before. Looking into original case, Mason sees several peculiarities which make him question not just what happened in the past but whether or not the town has the right person in custody this time around.
