Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Chloe‘s (Lauren German) latest case sends them after a punisher targeting those who have posted damaging videos on a social media site which have ruined peoples’ lives. At first angered by the competition, and then enamored with the level of vengeance, Lucifer’s true interest in the case comes from his mother (Tricia Helfer) questioning why he feels the need to punish the guilty even after he’s escaped Hell and why he continues to perform the same role God wanted even after escaping to Earth.

While Kono (Grace Park) reconnects with a former surf competitor facing hard times and Alicia (Claire Forlani) is paid a visit by Five-0’s chess-obsessed serial killer, McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and his team search for a drug dealer who parachuted from a plane killing both a DEA agent (who wasn’t lucky enough to have a parachute) and the witness whose house they landed in. The drug-dealing storyline will provide most of the episode’s action, including Kono highlighted in the most kick-ass sequence of the young season, but the heart of the episode comes from Kono’s subplot reconnecting with an old rival and coming to understand what she can do, and what she can’t, to help the veteran.

Aside from the script which expects us to believe all nuclear weapons across multiple countries can be hacked remotely by a single hack, “No ke ali’i wahine a me ka ‘aina” provides it share of enjoyable fun and intrigue as Five-0 first hunts down the spy and then begins working with him to stop a world-wide disaster.
