Castle - The Time of Our Lives

The longer it stays on the air the more Castle becomes Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (including a over-complicated failed wedding and spur-of-the-moment private second attempt in front of some very suspect green screen). In the style of It’s a Wonderful Life, insomnia, fear over whether or not he’s good enough for Beckett (Stana Katic), and a concussion lead Castle (Nathan Fillion) to awake in a parallel dimension where the two have never met. To get home a disoriented Castle will have to find a mystical Inca artifact which he believes is responsible for bringing him to his new reality.

White Collar - Borrowed Time

White Collar begins its final season by picking up the pieces of last season’s cliffhanger. The reveal of who took Neal (Matt Bomer) and why is a bit disappointing (honestly, the man’s plan to kidnap Neal and make him a fugitive in order to retrieve something in the FBI’s possession which he can no longer accomplish is pretty shotty thinking). However, the man’s need of a big score opens up a new door for Neal setting the stage for the show’s final season and the remaining days of Neal’s work for the FBI.

Elementary - The Five Orange Pipz

The latest episode of Elementary, while taking its name and set-up from a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle story, offers a mystery involving the death of a toy manufacturer (whose popular toy killed a handful of children) as well as the murder of the man’s attorney, offers several false leads and red herrings for both Holmes and Watson as each of the former partners takes one of the victims for themselves, later coming together when the motive proves too elusive for either to solve on their own.

Hawaii Five-0 - Ina Paha

For the show’s 100th episode Hawaii Five-0 offers a bizarre retelling of events from the show’s first episode shuffling the roles of several key characters and allowing McGarret’s father (William Sadler) to live. Of course the events are merely the drug-induced delusions of McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) in his attempt to withstand the torture and questioning at the hands of Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) who has returned to the island in an attempt to force the commander to reveal the location of Wo Fat’s father.

Elementary - Enough Nemesis to Go Around

Eight months after Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) left New York without even a farewell to begin working for MI6, the Third Season of Elementary picks up with his return. In his absence Watson (Lucy Liu) has carved out her own thriving consulting detective office, although she has struggled for months bringing down the new head of a local crime family (Gina Gershon). Holmes’ sudden return is met with surprise rather than joy, as is the news that he has taken on a new protege (Ophelia Lovibond) whose own backstory and motives remain murky at this point.
