Castle - Dressed to Kill

In an episode inspired by The Devil Wears Prada, Beckett (Stana Katic) and Castle (Nathan Fillion) investigate the murder of one (Meredith Richardson) of two (Emily Wilson) former assistants to the notoriously hard-to-please fashion designer Matilda King (Frances Fisher) after they were seen having a public altercation following their termination. After Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) find a bug in the victim’s apartment placed there by a former member of the Special Forces (John Eric Bentley) the mystery deepens.

Sherlock - His Last Vow

Well that… kinda sucked. Following a messy, but thoroughly enjoyable, episode, Stephen Moffat dives into his old bag of tricks for the season finale which features Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) in defeat, morphs Watson‘s (Martin Freeman) new bride Mary (Amanda Abbington) into the Holmes’ equivalent of River Song (Alex Kingston), and offers yet another super-villain who is arguably both smarter and more dangerous than Moriarty (Andrew Scott). Oh, and I should mention Holmes fails to solve the case.

Bones - The Heiress of the Hill

As Booth (David Boreanaz) deals with the fact his wife makes more money than him (something the character has none and dealt with repeatedly over the course of the series, but hey let’s do it again) and Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) discovers he has a mental patient (Jonno Roberts) for a brother (somebody watched Rain Man the week this script was due), the Jeffersonian works to help the FBI solve the murder of a community college student who was kidnapped the day before.

“The dinosaur in Doug Newbern’s backyard did indeed escape my notice.”

Elementary - Dead Clade Walking

When Watson (Lucy Liu) pokes around one of Sherlock Holmes‘ (Jonny Lee Miller) old unsolved murders she finds something the detective missed the first time around: a Paleozoic rock with the fossilized skeleton of a complete dinosaur inside. The discovery of the fossil leads the pair into the world of smuggling, and after a notorious smuggler known only as The Magpie whose agents liberate the fossil from the NYPD while posing as Custom Agents. When the smuggler turns up dead, along with a completely destroyed fossil of the Nanotyrannus and DNA that matches a man who can’t possibly be their killer, Holmes is forced to reexamine the case.
