A well-orchestrated murder and the kidnapping of a young girl (Delphina Belle) from a wealthy family by one of Moriarty’s lieutenants leads Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) to request the help of Moriarty (Natalie Dormer) to find “faux-riarty” (Andrew Howard) and come clean with Watson (Lucy Liu) about his lengthy correspondence with the incarcerated mastermind since Holmes sent her to prison. With Captain Gregson‘s (Aidan Quinn) help, the detectives discover Moriarty is no longer languishing in a super-max prison but working on limited-release for the FBI.

Psych - The Complete Seventh SeasonThe Seventh Season of Psych brings changes to Santa Barbara as Shawn (James Roday) and Juliet‘s (Maggie Lawson) relationship gets serious, Juliet learns the truth about Shawn’s psychic abilities, Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) and Marlowe (Kristy Swanson) get married, and Gus (Dulé Hill) gets a girlfriend (Parminder Nagra). The season also ends on a cliffhanger with Shawn and Gus being fired as consultants and Harris Trout (Anthony Michael Hall) stepping-in to take over as the SBPD’s new head honcho following Chief Vick’s (Kirsten Nelson) suspension.

Highlights from the season include Shawn trying to help Gus cover-up his apparent involvement in a murder (in one of the series’ best episodes), Henry‘s (Corbin Bernsen) unscheduled Mexican vacation with Juliet’s untrustworthy stepfather Lloyd (Jeffrey Tambor), the mystery behind Juliet’s new roommate, and an extended-cut of the series’ 100th episode which reunites several of the cast members of Clue (Lesley Ann Warren, Christopher Lloyd, and Martin Mull) for a murder mystery in the style of the 80’s film.

Hawaii Five-0 - Pukana

Christmas Eve brings the case of a murdered burglar (Danny Barclay) to Five-0 whose body was dumped in the trunk of an abandoned car in a junkyard. Five-0 picks up the man’s partner (Scott Subiono) but to find the actual crime scene and killer Catherine (Michelle Borth) and Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) search for the final house the victim robbed. Although Chin finds the right house, the owner (James Urbaniak) has good reason for not reporting the break-in and making sure the thief never spoke of what he found in the man’s wall safe.

White Collar‘s mid-season finale brings one of the missing gold coins from the season’s first episode to Peter‘s (Tim DeKay) attention. That, and the name of the fence (Micah A. Hauptman) who is moving them, will lead to Peter’s discovery of a large piece (but certainly not all) of the circumstances behind Neal‘s (Matt Bomer) involvement in the $1.8 million heist and how that money paid for Peter’s freedom by bribing a Federal prosecutor. Curiously, Neal keeps The Dutchman‘s (Mark Sheppard) name out of his confession leaving one more shoe yet to drop.

Psych: The Musical

Written and directed by show creator Steve Franks the long-delayed musical episode (filming began on the episode way back on October 2, 2012) finally hit television this weekend and DVD stores today. Featuring the show’s trademark wacky style, several familiar faces, and fun (if neither catchy nor all that memorable) tunes, Psych The Musical may not quite be worth the wait but it does provide some fun moments.
