Perception - Shiver

While attempting to avoid a visit from his estranged father (Peter Coyote), Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack) attempts to help the FBI locate a bank robber by interviewing their best witness to the crime – a trusting young boy (Cole Sand) suffering from Williams syndrome who was temporarily kidnapped by the robber to make good his escape. Based on the kid’s description of the masked man and his sick partner (Brian Letscher) who is dying of a rare and incurable degenerative disease (or so he believes), Moretti is able to track down and arrest one of their suspects in a case more complicated, and tragic, than it initially appears.

Daniel Pierce‘s (Eric McCormack) blissful holiday in Paris gets complicated when a man pretending to be an agent (Josh Cox) of the FBI working overseas enlists the good doctor’s help in acquiring stolen Chinese medical research which could help out a great many people with neurological disorders including Pierce. The hand-off goes smooth but things get complicated when Pierce is accosted by Chinese thugs looking for the missing pen and later learns the man presented himself as Agent Drexler isn’t actually a member of the FBI. The stress of the situation brings back Pierce’s delusions making it hard to impossible to convince the real Agent Drexler (Malou Beauvoir) that any part of his story is true.

Percpetion‘s Second Season comes to a close with a finale putting both Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack) livelihood in jeopardy when he is accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend Dr. Caroline Newsome (Kelly Rowan). The professor’s agitated state leads to his metal disorder rearing its head (in the smallest of ways) in front of his class which threatens his job at the university when a rich donor (Philip Casnoff) demands Pierce be given a psychiatric evaluation to prove the man is safe to teach impressionable young minds (such as the donor’s daughter).

The arrival of Lewicki‘s (Arjay Smith) younger brother Kenny (Chris Meyer), who is being raised by a different foster family than the one who raised Lewicki, causes complications when Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) and Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack) discover Kenny is wanted for the murder of a local drug dealer. Already boiling after being falsely arrested by the cops still searching for Kenny (who Lewicki also learns has been working for a local drug dealer), Lewicki begins his own investigation with Daniel (feeling responsible for bringing the young man to law enforcement’s attention) tagging along.
