Starting out by introducing that both Candace (Ashley Tisdale) and Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire) are patients of the same psychologist,, “Deconstructing Doof” has some fun with the premise as the doctor comes to see a pattern in both patients’ delusions and uncovers a connection to a truth that he will share with the world. Sadly for Dr. Mosley Shamai (Brendan Hunt), his attempts at proving the truth fair no better than that of Candice as Doofenshmirtz’s latest invention, with the help of Perry, erases all proof just seconds before his big presentation. Highlights of the episode include the patients’ duet of “No One Understands Me,” Phineas (Vincent Martella) and Ferb‘s (David Errigo Jr.) giant disco blimp (which goes unnoticed by hundreds of people), and the good doctor’s nervous breakdown on stage (which oddly comforts Candice).

Driving plays a large role in “License to Bust” as  Candace‘s (Ashley Tisdale) driving test coincides with Doofenshmirtz‘s (Dan Povenmire) new invention of turning any street light green allowing him to race through traffic. Candace’s fear is lost when she sees Phineas (Vincent Martella), Ferb (David Errigo Jr.), Isabella (Alyson Stoner), Baljeet (Maulik Pancholy), and Buford (Bobby Gaylor) all bouncing wildly around town on springs and sticky gloves the pair created. Her distraction actually allows for her to perform great at her test and pass (surprising her father and the driving instructor), although once again she’s unsuccessful in getting  her parents to notice before all antics of her brothers’ recent craziness have been wiped away (thanks largely to Perry).

“Perhaps in hindsight we should not have made our submarine out of food.”

In a classic wacky episode, Phineas (Vincent Martella) and Ferb (David Errigo Jr.), along with Isabella (Alyson Stoner) and Buford (Bobby Gaylor), build a giant submarine out of food making a “Submarine Sandwich Submarine” to explore the Mariana Trench. Snooping on her brothers rather than getting ready for the sandcastle building competition, Candace (Ashley Tisdale) sneaks onboard it time for an underwater adventure that includes almost getting eaten. Eventually making it out of the water, and crashing on the beach, covering it in sand, Candace’s proof not only disappears at the most opportune moment but she’s even rewarded for the most ingenious sandcastle design on the beach.
