Today’s Throwback Tuesday post takes us back to the 80s detective show Remington Steele. While attending a book publisher’s party who is interested in Steele (Pierce Brosnan) writing a book of his most famous cases, the detectives are approached by the husband (Joel Colodner) of a famous author (Shannon Wilcox) who believes his wife plans to murder him. Shortly after talking with Laura (Stephanie Zimbalist) and Steele, the man falls to his death in the exact manner that he described from the manuscript of the latest novel (but which doesn’t appear in the pages following his death). The mystery only deepens when the detectives learn that the dead man was the actual ghostwriter for the tawdry novels.

Today’s Throwback Tuesday post takes us back to the 80s detective show Remington Steele. While Laura (Stephanie Zimbalist) ignores the break-in at Steele‘s (Pierce Brosnan) apartment as someone from his nefarious past coming to call, she has a harder time ignoring the attack on her partner (especially after the names of those involved correspond to a current case). The firm’s current client is a recently-paroled ex-con (Andrew Bloch) who Laura believes someone in framing for the theft of valuable gold coins. Although Steele’s initial involvement on the case doesn’t help the client, who gets charged for murder, he does sniff out a suspicious character in the man’s lawyer (Barry Van Dyke) who has turned the head of Ms. Holt.

Despite Steele‘s (Pierce Brosnan) misgivings, Laura (Stephanie Zimbalist) signs a museum who wants the agency to help stop a thief from stealing a valuable painting known as “The Five Nudes of Cairo.” Although she doesn’t know it yet, Laura will discover that Steel stole the painting once before in his previous life and the young woman masquerading as an assistant curator (Cassandra Harris) was his partner and lover at the time. In need of her old beau’s help, the thief attempts to blackmail Steele into help her steal the painting only to be outplayed when he and Laura steal it on their own.

And time is a factor as these attacks keep taking Sheldon away from his fiance Lucille (Alexandra Johnson) and their impending wedding.
