After picking up the pace and finally beginning the main story in the previous episode, Andor slows to a crawl again as we spend another full episode waiting for the mission to begin. The season’s fifth episode also spends more time with Mon Mothma‘s (Genevieve O’Reilly) family and with the disgraced Syril Karn (Kyle Soller) without advancing, or yet justifying, either of those subplots. We also check in with Imperial Security Bureau Supervisor Dedra Meero (Denise Gough) despite no progress being made in her investigation. If you are looking for the definition of a filler episode, you’ve found one.

Darth Vader #27

Continuing the unexpected alliance of Darth Vader and Sabé against Governor Tauntaza, Darth Vader #27 brings the fight to the Governor and what she mistakenly believes is her unbreachable fortress. Having provided three episodes of set-up and backstory and getting Andor into position at the right time and place, the show moves forward with finally putting the thief to work for the Rebellion. Luthen hands over the mercenary to the team leader Vel Sartha (Faye Marsay), who isn’t too happy with the sudden addition despite the need for reliable soldiers, on planet Aldani.

James Cameron‘s Avatar hit theaters a week before Christmas of 2009 and quickly claimed a spot on my list of best films of that year. With the first of its long-overdue sequels finally making its way to theaters this winter, Avatar returns to theaters in hopes of rekindling the magic movie goers discovered more than a dozen years ago. While it wasn’t the best film that year, it’s one of the most watchable, and I’ve returned to Avatar multiple times over the years always being entertained.

Andor – Episode 3

  • Title: Andor – Episode 3
  • IMDb: link

With the first two episodes of the series relying heavily on backstory and set-up, events pick up the third episode of Andor which brings together Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and Rebel Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård) who may be interested in the drive Cassian is selling but is actually far more interested in the thief for a dangerous mission already under way. The pair are interrupted by the arrival of the corporate troops leading to an extended stunt sequence in a factory (which feels very much like a stunt sequence inside a factory laid out for maximum action and chaos once the blaster bolts begin firing back and forth).
