With the Asajj Ventress arc complete, the show turns its attention to a new character from The Clone Wars. “The Good Life” acts as a backstory for Cad Bane (A.J. LoCascio) who we meet as a child living on the streets with his best friend Niro (Eric Lopez). The pair are taken advantage of by the leader of a gang (who looks an awful lot like who Cad Bane will grow up to be) who entices them to help out on a heist starting one’s life in crime while the other is caught by authorities. Fans of Cad Bane looking for information on where the character started are likely going to enjoy this one the most, although it’s certainly still serviceable for those of us a bit perplexed by the choice of characters for this series.

While providing a bit of action, the episode’s purpose to provide some trust between the unlikely pair is successfully.
