With Leia fully recuperated, she and Luke take a trip back to Tatooine where Luke gives his aunt and uncle the proper burial he was unable to offer when fleeing the planet months earlier. It’s here where Leia also confides in Luke the true mission of their squadron to not only find the Rebellion a new home base but ferret out the traitor in their midst.

Hearing how dire the situation has become, Luke suggests a highly risky plan involving getting Wedge and Luke captured by the Star Destroyer Devastator and planting surveillance to help find the source of the leak. Although concerned Luke hasn’t exactly thought out the entire plan, with limited time Leia okays the mission with Prithi as support (a character I’m glad to see has stuck around despite what her exit in the last issue suggested).

Star Wars #7 also gives us Han and Chewie trying to make it out of Coruscant alive while been tracked by Boba Fett and more of Darth Vader‘s quasi-disciple Birra Seah who the Emperor is not pleased to see in command of the second Death Star during a surprise visit. Worth a look.

Disobeying orders, Luke and Prithi head out in search of the rest of the squadron. Finding the group and a severely wounded Leia in an equally damaged X-Wing, the pilots put their heads together and come up with a plan to trap the Star Destroyer Devastator and the TIE Intereptors quickly closing in on their location.

Although the plan isn’t all that well explained by writer Brian Wood, the effects are impressive. Most impressive. The fallout earns Leia an extended stay in a Bacta tank with C-3P0 and R2-D2 and promotions for both Luke and Wedge now that the princess is out of commission for the time being.

With Han Solo stuck on Coruscant and out of contact, and a pissed-off Col. Bircher wanting revenge for his lost Star Destroyer, it becomes even more necessary for the rag-tag fleet to find the mole. Sadly, it appears the group will move forward without Prithi who leaves after witnessing the depths of Luke’s feelings for Leia. I like the character, and I’m hoping we’ll continue to see more of her in the months to come. Worth a look.

The latest issue of Star Wars is split between Han Solo and Chewbacca trying to stay one-step ahead of the Imperial agents on their trail deep underground in Coruscant and Leia and her team of Stealth X-Wings being ambushed by a Star Destroyer and an entire fleet of TIE Interceptors.

The Leia storyline provides much of the action as Leia is severely wounded in a dangerous attempt to save the squadron. While dodging Stormtrooper and a pair of recognizable bounty hunters, Han and Chewie make a new acquaintance who offers them a way off the Imperial homeworld, but there’s a question as to whether or not they can trust the young woman or meet her steep price.

With the focus on the other characters, Luke and Prithi‘s storyline gets only a couple of pages, as does that of the Dark Lord of the Sith who makes a decision concerning the troubling identity of the young man who destroyed the first Death Star and Vader‘s current assignment overseeing the new Death Star. Worth a look.
