The Mentalist - My Blue Heaven

Two years after the events of last week’s episode where Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) caught-up with and killed Red John (Xander Berkeley), “My Blue Heaven” picks up with Jane on a small island with no extradition treaty living a simple life which is interrupted by the separate arrivals of both a beautiful woman and FBI Agent Abbot (Rockmond Dunbar) who each, in their own way, tempt the Mentalist to end his island isolation and return to the real world. We also glimpse in on the lives of various former members of the CBI who have moved on to other interests after Jane’s departure. Although the show will be continuing after this episode, it appears to be the last stop for Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) and Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) with both actors leaving the show.

The Mentalist - Red John

With the CBI shut down by the FBI and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and her team all under investigation by Agent Abbot (Rockmond Dunbar) after Patrick Jane‘s (Simon Baker) revelation to the press that Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston) is Red John, Jane stays out of his sight waiting for Bertam’s call. Thanks to the help of Lisbon, Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), Cho (Harry Groener), and Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) who get themselves all arrested, Jane is free to keep his meeting with Red John who, as I suspected, is not Gale Bertram (which Jane knew as well).

The Mentalist - The Great Red Dragon

With Ray Haffner (Reed Diamond), Sheriff Thomas McAllister (Xander Berkeley), and Bret Styles (Malcolm McDowell) confirmed dead, and Patrick Jane (Simon Baker)  unconscious following the explosion in his home, Lisbon leads the CBI after a wounded Reede Smith (Drew Powell) who she believes to be Red John due to catching a glimpse of the three dots on his left shoulder unaware that her boss Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston), who also survived the explosion, shares the same tattoo.

The Mentalist - Fire and Brimstone

With no murder case of the week to solve The Mentalist centers its entire episode on setting up a fateful meeting to get Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) one step closer to identifying Red John. Over two days the events of the episode slowly build tension as Jane and the CBI arrange for all five of the remaining suspects to be at a predetermined time and place of his choosing allowing Jane to identify and, if The Mentalist gets his way, kill Red John.

The Mentalist - The Red Tattoo

The CBI is called in to solve the murder of a prominent member of Visualize who was killed in his locked hotel room. The case also brings in the cult’s head of security, and one of Jane‘s (Simon Baker) remaining five Red John suspects, Ray Haffner (Reed Diamond) as an observer. As Lisbon (Robin Tunney) sits down with Visualize’s second-in-command Jason Cooper (Robert Picardo), Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) investigates a nearby car-jacking that looks to be tied to the murder, and Jane and Cho (Harry Groener) head to the dead gymnastic coach’s gym to talk with his students, their parents, and the dead man’s partner (Ray Abruzzo) who hated the victim’s connection to the cult.
