Let’s get this out of the way first, Demolition Man is a somewhat fun, if incredibly stupid, movie. Set in a dystopian future of a seemingly innocuous utopia (but with its own troubles bubbling under the surface), the film gives us super-cop John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) and psychopath Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) both being released from cryogenic prison where their battles in the late 90s left them (thanks to Phoenix framing Spartan in a way so obvious it could only be missed by 90s rule of law).

Drop Zone

Obviously an attempt to cash into the success of Point Break 3 years earlier, Wesley Snipes stars as U.S. Marshal Pete Nessip consumed a prison escape at 30,000ft. masterminded by skydiver Ty Moncrief (Gary Busey) disguised as a terrorist attack in which his brother (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) was killed. Moncrief plans to use the rescued computer expert (Michael Jeter) to hack the DEA’s mainframe. Suspended for his theories, Pete continues to investigate on his own leading him to ex-con Jessie Crossman (Yancy Butler) and her skydiving school in the Florida Keys.

Spooky Saturday takes us back t0 a movie that even if it contained a commentary track by Carson Daly filmed inside the TRL studio could still not be more 1998. Wesley Snipes stars as the Marvel Comics character who helps out a doctor bitten by a vampire and protects the world from skeezy vampire withe delusions of grandeur (Stephen Dorff) from taking it over. The film is notable for aspects of its style which look to have heavily influenced the first Matrix movie and for making Blade the character look good on film.
