After losing power in both their home and restaurant, Mr. Fischoeder (Kevin Kline) reluctantly puts them up in his family’s unused hunting lodge. With Louise (Kristen Schaal) concerned how Santa will find her and Linda (John Roberts) resistant to any change from their normal holiday schedule, there are plenty of challenges for the Belcher’s especially after loosing their family Christmas tree on the icy mountain roads which Linda refuses to leave alone in the wilderness.
Plenty of Belcher family shenanigans here with Linda’s worrying, everything around the Christmas tree, Bob’s low-key fear of driving off the side of the icy roads and plummeting the family to their deaths, and the kids taking matters into their own hands to alert Santa where they are staying. There is also the decoration of the lodge itself, with stuffed animals and some gruesome art celebrating falconry, not to mention the odd tasks left for Bob, which so perfectly fit Mr. Fischoeder.
