Charlie's Angels - I Will Be Remembered comic review

Throwback Thursday takes us back to the tale of three beautiful former police officers turned private detectives working for a faceless boss known as Charlie. Ida Lupino guest-stars as an aging actress on the eve of a comeback who is being frightened by staged scenes from her old movies brought to life in attempts to drive her off the film for good. Sabrina (Kate Jackson) takes the role of the actress’ new secretary while Jill (Farrah Fawcett) does some snooping as a reporter and Kelly (Jaclyn Smith), with the help of an odd couple of agents, gets a bit part on the movie allowing her to stick around the set.

“I Will Be Remembered” is structured a little differently than many of the show’s episodes. The first act involves the Angels investigating whether the client is actually being harassed or if the uncorroborated reports are her imagination. While the various events are staged to frighten, the episode skirts the issue of evidence left behind (like a soaked man getting out of a bathtub and house hastily without leaving any trail). An attempt on the actress’ life makes it obvious that something is obviously going on, although it takes some time before Sabrina comes up with the motive for the attacks and how it relates to a piece of art treasured by the woman’s departed husband. After several episodes seeing more action in the field, Bosley (David Doyle) is noticeably absent, although the Angels manage to corral two armed gunmen in the episode’s climax without any outside help.
